Sara Weymouth is a wife, mother and entrepreneur. After leaving her corporate job of 10 years, she wanted a career that would allow her mornings with her three boys and freedom to create.
Inspired by her love of locally made and organic bath products and clothing, Sara wanted to open a retail shop that would allow people to shop for quality gifts on the spur of the moment Established in 2017 as a pop-up Danville, Sara’s modern take on the gift shop opened its first brick and mortar location in downtown Danville 2018 and is now expanding into a second location in Lafayette due to open Spring 2019.
A longtime Bay Area resident, Sara grew up in Walnut Creek, and knew she wanted a store close to home. Lemon’s name gets its inspiration from Sara’s grandmother –
When I was growing up, my grandma always told me to rub lemons on my skin, she said they had the best healing abilities! Lemons are a superfood with amazing qualities.
Sara wanted to create a shop that would make it easy to grab a great gift, have it gift-wrapped, then be on your way. She tests every item herself for quality. Simply put, if Sara wouldn’t want to receive it as a gift, the item won’t be in the store.
When you think of a giftshop, you think of souvenirs and knick-knacks, but Lemon is the opposite of that. We offer home, baby, bath, women’s and men’s clothing. Items that people really want, that are locally made and good quality. I test every single item, quality is really important to me
When thinking of expanding her store, Sara knew she wanted to be in the Lafayette community. There are no other stores with a curated selection of locally made, organic products in the area. The Lafayette location is bigger than their Danville store and will be Lemon’s online shipping hub. You can expect more product selection in Lafayette, but Sara is aiming to keep the stores consistent. A unique store with amazing staple items, Lemon is a great addition to Park Plaza Shops.
